Partnership and Collaboration
As SOHAI, we truely believe that we can achieve a lot more through our interventions by actively engaging multiple actors through collaborations and patnerships. Therefore, we welcome partners who shares our vision and those who could be interested in becoming one of our active partners for project support or contributions to our thematic areas. So far, we have established patnership with some farmer organisations, local media and local government admnistrative units in Uganda. However, we remain open to delving into new forms of patnerships and collaborations across multiples levels.
Thefore, should you be an international organisation, multi-lateral agency, a funding body, farmer organisation or in the private sector and would wish to partner with us in catalysing actions to safegurard soil, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will respond promtly to your inquires. Together we can reduce soil degradation, build resilience and end food insecurity in all its forms in Uganda and beyond.
Volunteering and Internship
In an era of increasing resource constraints and development funding cuts, relying solely on financial incentives to implement community development initiatives presents a significant challenge to addressing some of the world's most pressing problems. At times, meaningful service requires us to set aside expectations of monetary compensation and focus instead on the urgent needs of vulnerable communities.
That is why, currently, all of our projects are being done on a voluntary arrangement. Although this comes with its challenegs, the smiles, renewed hope and positive change we witness in the lives of those we serve continue to inspire and motivate us to do even more.
As our Executive Director, Fredrick Omara, aptly states:

"Monetary rewards or material gain should not be the primary driver of knowledge transfer and rural development interventions, especially in times of global crisis."

WHY VOLUNTEER OR INTERN WITH US
If you are passionate about creating lasting community impact, we invite you to volunteer with us. Whether you are a sociologist, agronomist, soil scientist, bioengineer, or a professional from another discipline closely aligned with our thematic areas, we would be delighted to welcome you to our team.
We believe that complex development challenges require multidisciplinary solutions. By bringing together professionals from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, we strengthen our capacity to design innovative, evidence-based, and sustainable interventions that advance our mission and vision.
We also welcome partnerships with universities, colleges, and other institutions in Uganda and around the world that are seeking meaningful internship opportunities for their students. We are committed to providing a supportive learning environment where interns can gain practical experience while contributing to real-world development initiatives.
Guided by our founder's extensive international academic and professional experience, interns receive mentorship, technical guidance, and opportunities for professional growth throughout their placement. Our internship programme immerses students in the realities of rural development, enabling them to bridge the gap between theory and practice, particularly in the fields of agriculture, sustainable development, and community-based research.
Whether you are an individual eager to contribute your skills or an institution seeking high-quality experiential learning opportunities for your students, we look forward to partnering with you to create meaningful and lasting impact.
